Telecommunications Industry

Mario began his career in telecommunications as a consultant for Micon Telecommunications, leading the selection and implementation of MAS90 accounting software. He orchestrated the integration of purchasing, sales, and inventory management modules, guiding team members through all phases to ensure seamless adoption. His strategic coordination and technical expertise enhanced operational efficiency, establishing a strong foundation for his future financial leadership.

Semiconductor Industry

Advancing to the semiconductor sector, Mario served as Accounting Manager and later Controller at Towa Intercon Technologies. He scaled the finance department to support a revenue surge from $5 million to $50 million in three years, overseeing financial accounting, cost accounting, and human resources. By developing innovative applications, he streamlined financial processes, reducing month-end closing from 15 days to 3 days, significantly boosting efficiency. He also led workshops in Kyoto, Japan, to demonstrate these tools, enabling automated finance and manufacturing reporting to headquarters and fostering global alignment. This experience sharpened his analytical skills and established precise financial controls, solidifying his leadership foundation.

Tribal Government and Gaming Finance

As CFO of a Tribal Government, Mario managed budgeting, financial reporting, and compliance, addressing a $2 million deficit through strategic negotiations and fiscal reforms. He eliminated the shortfall, strengthened internal controls, and revamped hiring practices, enhancing operational integrity. His focus on transparency and fiscal discipline ensured long-term stability.
 
Promoted to CFO of Northwood Crossing Casino and Nooksack River Casino, he oversees all financial operations. During the 2008 financial crisis, he negotiated forbearance agreements with a bank syndication for two loan facilities, preserving liquidity. After a 30% revenue drop, he implemented cost-cutting measures and operational restructuring, restoring profitability. His meticulous profitability analysis, regulatory adherence, and accurate reporting continue to drive growth and stability.


Real Estate Finance

Mario developed his real estate expertise early at Century 21 and later at Prudential California Realty, where he managed accounting for five residential offices, including commercial and relocation services. Years later, he returned to the sector as Transaction Manager at Hamp Team Real Estate, directing accounting, finance, tax operations, and contract compliance for residential and custom home building divisions. He implemented advanced analytical models to track job costs for custom projects, ensuring optimal resource allocation and minimizing financial overruns. His precise ROI assessments and investor distribution projections guided stakeholders in high-stakes decisions. By proactively resolving contractual and financial discrepancies, he strengthened compliance and operational accuracy. Mario’s strategic oversight and innovative approaches consistently advanced profitability and organizational growth.
